European Union vs Farmers?

Most people have seen the farmer protests that happened earlier in 2024 in France, the Netherlands, and Germany, but they’re being renewed this week in the United Kingdom.
The new gripe in Britain is a new change on inheritance tax which some say could force families to sell their land in order to pay for the new expense. For many farmers, this could be detrimental to their business, and coincidentally plays into the narrative that governments and corporations are trying to run small farmers out of the industry in order to monopolize their control.
Whether this is true or not, is yet to be seen. However, what is true is that many Western European countries are seeing many changes in the taxes and land use restrictions they place on their farmers.
If this wasn’t bad enough already, the backbone of our society is also being blamed for a liberals favorite agenda piece… Global Warming. Ranchers and farmers alike are being blamed for a substantial part of global warming and it only makes it that much easier for city folk and out-of-touch politicians to levy more and more restrictions on the industry.
Although the claims for these changes are “for the good of the people and nature” does it really have a positive impact on the environment? Does it have an impact at all, or is this just another way for government to gain control over our food supply?
