Is this the price of poverty??🤔

Recently found myself on a deep dive of United Way of Pierce County’s 2021 form 990. And I need some help answering some questions I have on the numbers I found. Can y’all help me with these:

Why does UWPC have $6Mil invested in “publicly traded securities”?

What “publicly traded securities” are they invested in?

Why do they have/need $14.9Mil in “Net Assets”?

Did they spend $6.5Mil in lobbying?

If their officer/employee listed compensation is less than $500k, why is “other salaries and wages $1.6Mil?
